York & North Yorkshire Growth Hub

Business advice drop-in sessions

A regular series of drop-in sessions for accessing free business advice is commencing in the Craven area of North Yorkshire, delivered by Alison Laws, Business Relationship Manager from York & North Yorkshire Growth Hub.

The one-to-one drop-ins will be held in The Hub at the new Langcliffe Quarry Enterprise Centre near Settle, on the first and third Wednesdays of every month from 9.30am – 1.30pm. Further sessions are also planned for Ingleton i-Centre.

The first drop-in morning will be Wednesday 21st June. It is open to firms from across the region at all stages of business development. Pre-booking is not required, providing flexibility which is useful for busy business people.

Alison’s role is to provide an information, diagnosis and brokerage support service to ensure that SMEs in the district receive the government funded business support they require to meet their needs. She is there to provide signposting for all types of assistance ranging from training and skills, mentoring, access to funding and start up support, through to apprenticeship schemes, knowledge transfer partnerships and networking opportunities.

She explains “Owners and managers are invited to call in to discuss all things business over a brew. We can cover whatever you need to start, thrive or survive”.

If the Wednesday drop-ins are not viable for business owners needing one-to-one advice, appointments can be made to meet separately by contacting Alison on alison.laws@ynygrowthhub.com.

The drop-in sessions are a legacy of the Langclifffe Quarry Enterprise Centre Project delivered by the former Craven District Council with funding support from the European Regional Development Fund and the York & North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership to provide purpose-built workspace and support for local businesses.
