Whaletown to open in Orchard Square Sheffield Plate to welcome speciality coffee shop

Sheffield Plate, Sheffield’s popular food destination based at Orchard Square in the heart of the city centre, has welcomed speciality coffee shop, Whaletown to its line-up of local, independent street-food vendors and bars this month.

The second Whaltetown venue to open within city, the first located in Crooks in west Sheffield, the Coffee (and) Company was established in 2018 by Jordan O’Shea, inspired by the various places he had visited around the world that made him feel most ‘at home’.

Jordan’s vision was to create somewhere calm, where customers can collect their thoughts and relax over the perfectly made coffee. Now in its fourth year, the brand has already earnt a strong reputation for both its baristas, and its coffee, having achieved numerous trade and service awards.

Commenting on the opening, Whaletown founder Jordan said, “This is a very exciting time for Whaletown, building on our success to date with the opening of our second venue in Orchard Square.

“We are delighted to be joining Sheffield Plate and their team of popular food and drink destinations, giving us the opportunity to offer city centre customers a real taste of our quality and friendliness.”

Spanning two floors in Orchard Square, Sheffield Plate offers a range of food from around the world to include Thai and Peruvian, as well as from across the UK. Sheffield Plate’s brand new bar is also now open, serving cocktails, sodas, spirits and bottled beers.

Whaletown will be open from 8am Sunday-Friday and 9am on Saturdays.
