Quod bolsters Leeds team with director move after successful year in new office

Pete Hall, director at independent planning consultancy, Quod, has returned to his roots in Yorkshire to grow the business’ infrastructure offering.

Pete, who has been with Quod for almost 13 years, was part of the original team in Leeds when it was established but has spent several years in London focussing on the delivery of major infrastructure projects. He now specialises in the Development Consent Order (DCO) regime and has extensive experience of nationally significant infrastructure projects (NSIPs) in both the energy, water and waste sectors.

Whilst continuing to work across the country, Pete’s return to Leeds means he is now strategically placed to better serve the North. His expertise in leading multidisciplinary teams and negotiating with statutory bodies, combined with his local knowledge, relationships and understanding of geographies, makes him uniquely placed to guide some of the region’s most important projects.

Pete Hall, Director at Quod, said: “I am very excited to be back in Leeds to help grow Quod’s infrastructure planning offer.

“The DCO regime is becoming increasingly complex, requiring a delicate balance between technical rigour and local sensitivity. I can bridge that gap and help clients navigate the process, combining Quod’s national reputation for handling NSIPs with a hands-on, local presence that understands the specific geographic and political nuances of Yorkshire and the wider North.”

Pete is supported in Leeds by Amy Pickering, who has joined Quod as an Assistant Planner, after previously being with Savills.

Quod’s Leeds office has gone from strength to strength since the team moved into a new space in Bruntwood’s West Village a year ago.

As well as celebrating new appointments and the diversification of the team’s offer, Emma Bilton, an Associate, has been named one of the Top 30 Under 30. The award recognises the emerging and inspiring talent from business leaders across Leeds and West Yorkshire.

Richard Frudd, Head of Leeds and Senior Director at Quod, said: “It is fantastic to be working in an office with such incredibly talented colleagues. We are delighted to welcome Pete back to Yorkshire, and to have Amy join the team to strengthen our offer.

“We’re also so pleased to see Emma rightfully recognised for her talent and hard work. Supporting the next generation of planners is hugely important to us, and both Amy and Emma are quickly establishing themselves as future leaders in our business.”

Quod’s Leeds office is part of a director-led nationwide business which advises on some of the largest, most complex and nationally significant developments across the UK. From planning strategy and socio-economics case-making, to infrastructure, development economics and environmental planning advice, the team works to deliver projects which make a difference every day to places and people.
