Frame sees 200% pre-Christmas surge from retailers for its Better Images service

Frame – the West-Yorkshire based technology and data science business – has seen a 200% jump in demand for its cutting-edge Better Images service from retailers as they look to quickly maximise their sales in the final run up to Christmas.

With the cost-of-living crisis gripping the UK, and with many retailers reporting sluggish sales, Frame has been inundated with enquiries from both e-commerce as well traditional retailers who have a mix of online and bricks & mortar operations.

Better Images improves image quality based on key data extraction. It analyses an existing set of images and scores them out of 100 based on sales impact. Centred on that data, it then improves the imagery automatically which ultimately drives conversions and reduces cart abandonment.

Frame cited the core motivators are around speed, convenience, reliability and cost as the Better Images technology means that there is no need for expensive or time consuming reshoots which can take weeks. This news follows Frame’s recent appointment by Halfords to implement Better Images across all of its bike categories.

Liam Fulton, co-founder and CTO of Frame, said: “Retailers are being battered from all sides - thanks to spiralling energy, raw material and labour costs as well as a significant drop in their customers’ disposable incomes. Many are realising that Better Images is a way for them to buck that trend by focusing on what actually makes people buy; namely the image in front of them.

Liam added: “In the past, retailers have been bound by the limitations of needing to do reshoots if their imagery wasn’t delivering, but that’s now been turned on its head. Current technology means they can make changes quickly and cost effectively based on accurate data. That is a gamechanger and will revolutionise the sector over the coming years as it becomes more widely adopted.”

Frame was established in 2020 by Liam Fulton and Hannah Bratley. It is a technology and data science business that is headquartered in Slaithwaite but works with clients across the UK and internationally. Its team of end-to-end data experts, who include engineers, scientists and developers, work across two core divisions: Consultancy and Solutions. The business is also currently developing a brand-new image optimisation product for the e-commerce sector which will come to market in Q1 2023.
