Nexus Rental celebrates shortlisting in the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards 2026

Leading B2B vehicle and plant hire solution Nexus Rental has been shortlisted in the Business Enabler of the Year category at the UK’s flagship business awards, the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards 2026.

Nexus is one of just eleven businesses shortlisted in the category and joins a national field of almost 200 finalists across 20 categories at the business awards, headlined by Lloyds Bank, with ITV as a media partner and the support of the UK government.

The latest shortlisting follows a series of award wins throughout 2025 and 2026, cementing Nexus’ position as an industry leader in rental and technology.

Additional to this achievement, Nexus recently launched its dedicated plant, equipment and HGV proposition, powered by the market-leading Iris® platform. The new offering includes over 700,000 assets across 125+ supply partners and 650+ branches. It also follows an unparalleled peak period, with figures showing a 25% year-on-year increase in the number of vehicles supplied over the peak period in 2025-26.

Scott Haddow, chief executive officer at Nexus, said; “Being shortlisted for Business Enabler of the Year is real recognition of what our team delivers for customers day in, day out. Our focus has always been on being a genuine partner to the businesses we work with, not just a supplier, and this nomination reflects that. I’m proud of everyone across Nexus who has contributed to this achievement.”

Amanda Murphy, CEO, Lloyds Business and Commercial Banking, said; “Behind every successful business is a story of ambition, determination and innovation. Inspiring entrepreneurs backing themselves to succeed. That’s exactly what the Lloyd British Business Excellence Awards celebrates. Nexus is bringing new ideas, investing in its community and helping drive growth in the UK. They represent the very best of British enterprise and we’re incredibly proud to back them.”

Over the last 12 months, Nexus has invested heavily in its Iris® platform to remain at the forefront of the industry. Iris® now uses 25 years of anonymised data and a bespoke software solution to optimise allocation logic. This results in faster, smarter booking allocations, improved customer satisfaction and enhanced operational efficiency. Thanks to the ongoing innovation, Nexus’ revenue has also increased from £48m in 2015 to £262m in 2025.

Winners will be announced at the gala ceremony at Grosvenor House, London, later this year. In keeping with Awards tradition, winners ring the opening bell at the London Stock Exchange and are celebrated at the programme’s annual reception at the House of Commons.
