Kettu Studios which is based in Skipton is a film and animation company led by an industry expert, Virpi Kettu.

Virpi Kettu who owns the company explained why she set up the business and said:

“It was the natural progression for me; I had worked for other people all throughout my professional career which has spanned over 20 years. In 2012 my dream was to set up my own company in Canada but since I moved to Skipton later that year, I turned that dream into a reality and founded Kettu Studios in Skipton.

The company specialises in film and animation production which is an industry which requires multiple skills. Virpi went on to say “You need lots of different skills to be successful in this industry, it is complex when starting but as time passes and your skills get enhanced and it becomes easier to create film and animation.”

Kettu Studios is set to launch its new game Dogs Dale on the 21st of May. Virpi described the game and said; “It’s a mobile trail app, based in locations in Skipton for now with the possibility of it expanding into the Yorkshire Dales later in the year. The virtual dogs within the app spread awareness of the history of Skipton. I want the game to shine a new light on the area as well as the characters and local legends. When you have reached the end of the trail and you have answered the questions correctly; the app generates a voucher to use in local businesses.”

Describing the inspiration behind the game Virpi went on to say; “it has to be the location itself Skipton, there is a lot of history and heritage.
