James Parfitt who has owned J Parfitt Plumbing and Heating for the last 30 years has seen his business thrive over recent years.

Explaining how the business started James went on to say; “I always wanted to start my own plumbing business, I didn’t want to work for someone else and it was a challenge at the start of running my own business. With the more jobs you do people recognise that you do a professional job and that’s how the word spreads about your business within the local area.”

James then went on to state what services the company offers and said; “We offer contract work, domestic plumbing and heating. As well as this we also do solar heating, heat pumps, sanitary & drainage and underfloor heating. All these services allowed the company to build up a network of customers who are happy with the professional service that is offered and customers who know that we can meet deadlines.”

With COVID-19 taking a massive hit on many local businesses forcing many to go bankrupt and bust, James felt that the pandemic hasn’t really affected his business as he had anticipated and said; “The first couple of weeks when everything started we were at home and then after a month, the government allowed us to continue our work. It was a worrying time but we got through it and the business has grown.”

Building on from his success in North Yorkshire, James has created his own website and explained the reasoning behind this; “The website is a perfect way for people to see what services we offer as well as where we are based. It allows people to see what accreditations we have as a plumbing company as well as seeing some pictures of jobs we have previously done.

James elaborated on the accreditation side of the business and said; “We have a G1 Grant installer accreditation. We fit Grant oil boilers where the manufacturer offers a two years warranty whilst we offer a five years warranty. The CIPHE is the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating just validates everything we do and I’ve been a member for years.
