Craft and Berry is a local alcohol store where you can purchase different types of wines, ales and beer. Located in Sharrow, Sheffield the business is owned by brother and sister duo Tony and Trudy as well as store manager Mark.

When asked about the products they sell Mark said; “We sell stock from nationwide large breweries to smaller ones. There are only 26 breweries in Sheffield and we stock their products. We also use Polly’s in Wales, Colonel in London and various others.

With an average of 4.9 stars review from 31 reviews has seen the company reputation grow within Sharrow and manager Mark said; “We have these reviews because of our excellent customer service which is what it’s all about. People will order online and then collect their product or we deliver nationwide, a lot comes from the latter. If people order before 1PM then their order will be ready for collection the very next day.”

To attract more customers to the store Craft and Berry have tried a sampling session and this has been highly successful as manager Mark said; “It’s very important because a lot of people then try different products they have never tried before from different distilleries. We also do beer tasters as well so people could drink a sour or traditional ale for the first time. It’s all about getting people to try different and new things.”

With every business facing challenges across the UK Mark explained the biggest challenge facing Craft and Berry and said; “With bills going up people are a bit more tentative on what they spend their money on. The products we sell are classed as luxury items but generally we have done really well. The products we sell are also given as gifts to other people and during occasions such as Christmas we are really busy. We have a very loyal customer base to which we are always grateful for.”

Covid-19 has seen many businesses close due to the lack of revenue and support from the government. However Mark said; “We still did a lot of sales online and local deliveries. We had to limit the amount of people in the store at any one time. You look outside and there’s nobody walking up and down the street. We got through it as a business and we are looking forward to the future.”
