Pioneering Harrogate Health Clinic Launches
Pioneering Harrogate clinic launches as Yorkshire faces stark health gap and growing demand for earlier answers
- One of the North’s first science-led prevention clinics is launching in Harrogate this month, bringing an advanced private diagnostics and early-detection model rarely seen outside London to Yorkshire
- The launch comes as healthy life expectancy in Yorkshire and the Humber sits below the England average, with men expected to spend just 58.8 years in good health and women 59.3, while women in North Yorkshire are estimated to spend 19.2 years in poor health
- Nationally, demand for earlier answers is intensifying, with 1.81 million people currently waiting for a diagnostic test in England, and almost one in four waiting longer than six weeks
- The new clinic will offer advanced diagnostic ultrasound, blood analysis, cancer screening, cardiovascular assessments, hormone and metabolic profiling, brain and cognitive health services, private GP access, and personalised long-term prevention programmes – helping people investigate symptoms earlier, and in some cases identify potential issues before they become symptomatic
- The expansion is backed by major senior appointments, with Consultant Radiologist Dr Adam Culverwell joining as Medical Director, and Kate Ward joins as Clinic Director following 27 years’ NHS experience
